Many Christians today are taught that Jesus (Yahawashi) is God Himself and coequal with the Father (YHWH). This belief, known as the Trinity doctrine, is not only unscriptural but also dangerous because it distorts the relationship between the Most High and His Son. The Bible provides overwhelming evidence that the Messiah is not the Most High, but His Son, servant, and representative. Failing to distinguish between the two leads to idolatry and confusion.
Let’s break this down using Scripture and historical evidence.
1. Misinterpreting Isaiah 9:6
Isaiah 9:6 (KJV)“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”
At first glance, Christians use this verse to argue that Yahawashi is the Father. But this is based on misunderstanding:
The term “Everlasting Father” is about governance, not identity.
In Isaiah 22:20-21, we see a similar use of the word “father”:“I will clothe him with thy robe... and I will commit thy government into his hand: and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem...”
Eliakim was called a father because he was given rulers hip not because he was YHWH. Likewise, Yahawashi being called “Everlasting Father” refers to the eternal kingdom granted to him by YHWH (1 Corinthians 15:27-28).
2. “Gods” Are Representatives of Power, Not the Most High
Psalm 82:6-7 (KJV)“I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. But ye shall die like men...”
The Hebrew word Elohim (Ahlahyam) means mighty ones, judges, or rulers. Being called “mighty God” or “Elohim” does not make Yahawashi YHWH. Many men in Scripture were called elohim because they carried divine authority.
3. Yahawashi Himself Acknowledged the Father’s Supremacy
Over and over, Yahawashi makes it clear that the Father is greater:
John 14:28 – “The Father is greater than I.”
Mark 10:18 – “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone.”
Matthew 26:39 – “Not as I will, but as Thou will.”
John 5:19 – “The Son can do nothing by himself.”
If Yahawashi were equal to YHWH, he would not need to submit his will to the Father. The Scriptures show a hierarchy: YHWH is supreme, Yahawashi is subordinate.
4. Yahawashi Prayed to the Father
If Yahawashi is YHWH, why would he pray to Himself?
Matthew 6:9 – He teaches us to pray to “Our Father which art in Heaven,” not to him.
Matthew 27:46 – On the cross he cried, “My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me?”
Hebrews 5:7 – He offered prayers to the One who could save him from death.
The Messiah’s prayers demonstrate he is not the Almighty.
5. The Father Alone Is All-Knowing
Matthew 24:36 – “But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.”
John 17:21-23 – Yahawashi prays that believers may be “one” just as he and the Father are one. Being “one” does not mean they are the same being, but in unity and purpose.
6. Yahawashi Is Subject to the Father
1 Corinthians 15:27-28 (KJV)“For he ‘has put everything under his feet.’ Now... it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ. When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him...”
Yahawashi’s rulership is granted by YHWH. He remains subject to the Father.
7. “I AM” Is Not Yahawashi’s Name
Christians misinterpret John 8:58 (“Before Abraham was, I am”) as proof Yahawashi claimed to be YHWH. But Exodus 3:14-15 clarifies:
YHWH’s eternal name is YHWH, not “I AM.”
Yahawashi simply stated he existed before Abraham because he was with the Father at creation (Proverbs 8:22-31, John 1:1-3).
8. Yahawashi Was Tempted – God Cannot Be
Hebrews 4:15 – Yahawashi was tempted in every way, just as we are.
James 1:13 – “God cannot be tempted by evil.”
If Yahawashi was tempted, he cannot be YHWH.
9. Yahawashi Was Made Perfect
Hebrews 5:8-9 – “Although he was a son, he learned obedience... and once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation.”
God does not need to learn obedience or be “made perfect.”
The Historical Origins of the Trinity
The belief that Yahawashi is coequal with the Father developed centuries after the Bible was written:
Early believers understood that Yahawashi was the Son of God, subordinate to the Father.
The concept of coequality was solidified at the Council of Nicaea (325 AD) under Roman Emperor Constantine, who sought to unify the empire’s religions. Pagan concepts from Babylonian and Greco-Roman beliefs about “triads” of gods influenced this doctrine.
The word Trinity is not in the Bible. Neither is the teaching that the Father, Son, and Spirit are one “essence.”
This doctrine is rooted in man-made tradition, not Scripture.
The Consequences of Believing Yahawashi Is YHWH
Idolatry – Worshipping the Son as if he were the Father breaks the first commandment (Exodus 20:3).
Distorting the Divine Order – 1 Corinthians 11:3 shows God (YHWH) is the head of Christ (Yahawashi). Making them coequal undermines YHWH’s supremacy.
Loss of the Father’s Name – By blending the identities, Christians ignore YHWH’s memorial name (Exodus 3:15).
Isaiah 42:8 (KJV)“I am YHWH: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another...”
Restoring the Truth
Yahawashi is the Messiah, the Son of the Living God. He is the mediator between YHWH and man (1 Timothy 2:5). He is the appointed King through whom YHWH will rule the nations.
But he is not YHWH Himself. He submits to the Father in all things and receives power from Him.
Deuteronomy 6:4 (KJV)“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD.”
Understanding this truth is vital to proper worship and salvation. We must honor the Son as the Son and worship the Father as the one true God.
